dailies - Support
dailies is a hand-drawn habit tracker for iPhone. You add a few habits, tap a circle each day, and a number gets bigger. It is honest about the facts and kind about them: a broken streak goes back to zero, because a number that flatters you is not worth keeping.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my data kept?
On your iPhone, and nowhere else. dailies has no accounts and no server for your habits. We have no copy of them and no way to get one. The only thing the app sends anywhere is an anonymous check of whether your subscription is active. See the Privacy Policy.
Will my streak survive a new phone?
Yes, if you restore from an iCloud or computer backup, which is the normal path when setting up a new iPhone. Your habits are stored in a location Apple includes in that backup. If you set the new phone up as new rather than restoring, they will not carry over, so export first from Settings → export.
Why did my streak reset when I missed one day?
Because that is what happened. dailies has no streak freezes and no grace days by design. Missing a day is allowed and the app says so, but the number tells the truth. You can still mark any of the last seven days if you simply forgot to open the app.
I did the habit but forgot to mark it. Can I fix it?
Yes, for up to seven days back. Open the month view, choose the habit, and tap the day. Further back than that is deliberately not possible: unlimited backfill turns the streak into a drawing rather than a record.
When does a new day start?
At 4am, not midnight. If you mark something at 1:30am it counts for the day that is ending, not the one beginning, so a late night does not cost you a streak you earned.
Why did I not get a reminder?
Most often, permission. Check Settings → Notifications → dailies on your iPhone. Note also that dailies deliberately does not remind you about a habit you have already marked that day: if you journal in the morning, the evening nudge is skipped.
Can I have more than one reminder per habit?
Not currently. Each habit gets one reminder at one time, which keeps the app well inside the limit iOS places on scheduled notifications. If you have a lot of habits with reminders, Settings will tell you when some cannot be scheduled rather than letting them silently fail.
The handwriting is hard to read.
Turn on plain type in Settings. It swaps the entire app to the system font, everywhere, and honours your Dynamic Type size.
How do I get my data out?
Settings → export produces every habit and every day you marked, as plain text, handed to the standard share sheet. Where it goes next is your choice.
Does dailies cost anything?
There is a free version and a paid one, and no advertising in either.
Free keeps two habits and the current month. Plus adds unlimited habits, every month you have ever marked, your longest run and your total, and reminders. It is available weekly or yearly, and the yearly plan starts with a free week.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose dailies. Cancelling keeps your access until the end of the period you have paid for.
I paid, but the app still shows the free version.
Open the paywall and tap restore. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so they follow you to any device signed in with it. If that does not work, email us and we will sort it out.
What happens to my habits if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. Every day you ever marked stays on your phone. You go back to seeing two habits and the current month, and everything else reappears if you subscribe again.
