Privacy Policy

1. The Short Version
- dailies has no accounts and no sign-in
- dailies shows no ads, and does not track you across other apps
- Nothing you write — your habits, the days you marked, your settings — is ever transmitted anywhere
- The app sends two things, both to RevenueCat: a subscription check, so it knows whether you have Plus, and whether you found dailies through an App Store search ad
- Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored
2. What the App Stores, and Where
Everything dailies knows lives in a single database file inside the app's own storage on your iPhone:
- The habits you create, their names and schedules
- Which days you marked each habit
- Your settings: reminder times, when your day starts, week start day, and text preferences
There is no server. We have no copy of this and no way to obtain one.
3. Subscriptions, Ads, and What We Send
dailies Plus is a subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store your payment details. To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service.
What RevenueCat receives:
- A random identifier generated on your device. It is not your name, your email, or your Apple Account
- Your subscription status, and the country and device type Apple reports with the purchase
- A token from Apple that says whether this install came from an ad in App Store search results, and if it did, which campaign and search term. For any other install it says only that it did not. This comes from Apple's AdServices framework; it is not the advertising identifier, and it is not tracking
What it is used for:
- Checking that your subscription is valid, which is what lets the app unlock Plus
- Counting subscriptions, so we can see how many people subscribe, renew, or cancel
- Seeing which of our App Store search ads led to a subscription, so we only keep paying for the ones that work
The second of those is why the App Store label for dailies lists Purchase History under both App Functionality and Analytics, and the third is why it lists Advertising Data under Analytics. They are a count of subscriptions and where installs came from, and nothing else. They cannot tell us who you are, and they say nothing about how you use the app.
It never receives anything you write. Your habits, the days you marked and your settings are not sent, because the app does not send them anywhere. RevenueCat's own privacy policy is here.
RevenueCat is the only service dailies talks to. Until the subscription existed the app made no network requests at all, and this page said so.
4. Data We Do Not Collect
No analytics of what you tap or which screens you see, which habits you keep, or how often you open the app. No crash reporting. No advertising identifier and no tracking across other apps or websites. No accounts and no sign-in. The subscription counting and ad attribution in section 3 are the only measurements of any kind, and they measure payments and where installs came from rather than behaviour.
5. iCloud Backup
The app's database is stored in a location that Apple includes in your iPhone's regular backup. If you have iCloud Backup switched on, a copy of your habits travels with your backup and is restored when you set up a new phone. That backup is held by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and is encrypted; we have no access to it.
To exclude it, turn off iCloud Backup for dailies in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. Your habits then exist only on the device, and will not survive losing it.
6. Notifications
If you turn on reminders, dailies schedules them locally through iOS. No push server is involved and no device token is registered, so nothing leaves your phone. You are asked for permission only after you have set a reminder time, never on first launch, and you can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings.
7. Exporting Your Data
Settings offers an export of every habit and every day you marked, as plain text. It is handed to the standard iOS share sheet, so wherever it goes next is entirely your choice. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you send it.
8. Payments
Payment and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive or store your payment details. Cancelling is done in iOS Settings, not here.
9. Children
dailies is safe for all ages. It is not directed at children specifically. Nothing anyone writes in the app is collected, at any age; the only data that leaves the device is the anonymous subscription check in section 3, which carries a random identifier and no personal information.
10. Changes
This page changes in the same release as the code it describes. When the subscription was added, this page, the App Store description and the App Store privacy label were all rewritten in the same commit that added the network call — because a privacy policy that lags the app by even one release is worse than none.
Last change: September 4, 2026 — added the subscription check described in section 3, and said plainly that it is also counted. Before that release, dailies made no network requests at all.
